We were privileged to spend our morning with Rabbi Elyse Goldstein, who is volunteering at Yad LaKashish during her sabbatical year in Jerusalem. This organization provides the opportunity for the elderly to be a productive and valued part of society by working as artisans. In return they receive a small stipend, supplemental health insurance, and self-confidence.

This month at Women of the Wall Bess showed up only moments after some minor excitement, namely Haredi men throwing chairs at the women gathering to pray at the Kotel like they do every Rosh Chodesh.
