Bess’s Egypt Trip - Day 1
The. Best. Ramadan. Ever! Bess spent the week trekking through Egypt with fellow classmates Jeremy, Sarah, and Jonah. It was a busy first day after arriving in Cairo at 1AM, rushing to the hotel for some Zzzs before heading to the Egypt Museum (looks like your grandmother’s attic - you wouldn’t believe how much ‘stuff’ they have some of which is just piled sloppily in dimly lit hallways), had lunch at a restaurant (yes, we were able to find food during Ramadan) described as having ‘unexplainable jungle decor’, wandering around the shuk (market) and following random Egyptians around the city. We left on a 12-hour overnight train to Aswan while remembering the Sabbath. To be continued…
