Bess’s Egypt Trip - Day 2
We survived the train and after a hearty “Four-bread breakfast” (standard on the overnight train) we arrived in Aswan. After checking into the hotel we joined a convoy of small private vans headed for Abu Simbel - an additional four hours or transportation. Due to the extreme heat there were very few tourists at this awesome sight and the fact that we survived proved it to be a successful day. We returned to Aswan just into for dinner at a Nubian restaurant on an island, hence needing to take the ferry. Best Lesson Learned: If your hotel is advertised as having a ‘pool’, it is most likely the size of a large bath tub fill with water from the Nile. Enjoy!
